about

Inspired by an idea by Steve Danielson.

lyrics

Late night driving all alone
After the Dying Fetus show
To wake up so I could make it home
I turned on my radio

That’s when much to my dismay
Made a discovery that day
How could my life change this way
And what will my friends have to say

I drove for miles and miles
I reached to change the dial
But after a while
I started to smile

My god what’s happening to me
Wake up can this truly be
Its the ultimate blasphemy
Can’t let anybody see

You know there’s something I wanna say
But I just can’t find the way
I been struggling for days and days
My friends feel like I’m shifty

You know I kinda just wanna tell
I wanna break free and rebel
From the rooftops I wanna yell
Hey I’ve become a Swiftie

I hit the local record store
So I could try to find some more
But then I ran into Lenore
She asked what I was looking for

Thought fast needed an alibi
What else could I be there to buy
Can’t say 1989
Or I could kiss that friend goodbye

With no time to react
I reached into the rack
When I pulled my hand back
Things were back on track

Swallow the Sun saved me that day
I said goodbye and quickly paid
Took my record and got away
Too close the truth nearly betrayed

You know there’s something I wanna say
But I just can’t find the way
I been struggling for days and days
My friends feel like I’m shifty

You know I kinda just wanna tell
I wanna break free and rebel
From the rooftops I wanna yell
Hey I’ve become a Swiftie

I used to think that I
Was just a metal guy
But now I’ve realized
That that was just a lie
And there’s no reason why
I can’t have over sides
And different favs and likes
New genres I can try
And all the people who
Tell me what I should do
Well they’re just being rude
Their words could be construed
As being bugaboo
Their view is just askew
With all that I’m through
Oh thank you Tay Tay

You know there’s something I wanna say
But I just can’t find the way
I been struggling for days and days
My friends feel like I’m shifty

You know I kinda just wanna tell
I wanna break free and rebel
From the rooftops I wanna yell
Hey I’ve become a Swiftie

I think I’m gonna have to take a stand
I really hope my friends understand
It doesn’t make me less of a man
In fact it’s kinda nifty

I don’t care if they think I’m weird
Because these feelings won’t disappear
I’m gonna shout it for all to hear
Hey I’ve become a Swiftie
